february sunrise

Zeiss 50mm f2 Makro Planar manual focus lens

This is one of my all time favorite sunrise photos because of the unusual and striking color palette that, even after shooting hundred of sunrises, I still haven’t seen before. The soft muted reds, oranges, blues and greys really look like winter to me, which is perfect since this is one of the last February sunrises I shot. Normally I would recommend printing sunrises on canvas and mounting them stretched to display, but this palette is so elegant that I think I would prefer a standard, simple gallery frame for this one. Taken with a Zeiss 50mm f2 Makro Planar manual focus lens on February 25th, 2014.

Please feel free to check out the February Sunrise Collection as well. The palettes in this triptych display incredibly well together even though the photos were all taken at completely different times of the year, and two of the photos are actually sunsets, not sunrises.
