the other side

This is a very early morning view from the Roosevelt Island side of Manhattan… not the East Side, or the West Side… the Other Side that few New Yorkers ever get to see, but should. Even at 5am, the city is wide awake with energy that is captured beautifully in this long 30 second exposure taken from a rooftop overlooking the city. Look off to the right for the streams of traffic lights moving between the buildings, and imagine the flow of the water and the clouds over 30 seconds of time. Taken with a Zeiss 21mm f2.8 Distagon manual focus lens on a tripod with a remote shutter release.
