Every New Yorker has their favorite bench. You know the one you seek out whenever you need a break on a sunny weekend morning… when you feel like relaxing and reading a good book… the one that ruins your day if you see that someone else beat you to it. This photo captures that idea perfectly. Taken in a tiny east-end park in the Sutton Place area with a Zeiss 28mm f2.0 Distagon manual focus lens wide open at f/2 and 1/5000.

Zeiss 35mm f1.4 Distagon manual focus lens

Lovely B&W of 10th Avenue in New York facing due east on a late evening summer day in 2013. This image was taken from the iconic viewpoint of High Line Park, and was quite a difficult image to capture because of intense shadows produced by the setting sun behind me. The detail that this lens captured in the architecture in incredible, and I’m more than excited to see how this renders in an Giclee print. Perfect for a classic gallery frame.
